Position Summary:
The Quality Engineer, part of the CyncHealth engineering team, ensures the quality, reliability, and performance of our platforms through well-defined test policies and procedures, thorough manual testing, and robust test automation. This role collaborates closely with product, engineering, and DevOps to embed quality throughout the SDLC and support continuous improvement across teams.
Responsibilities:
Experience/Requirements:
3–7+ years in SQA/QA/QE roles with a track record of manual testing and test automation across complex, distributed systems (web/apps/services/data).
Proficiency in one or more modern automation stacks (e.g., JavaScript/TypeScript + Playwright, Java + JUnit/RestAssured, Python + PyTest/Requests) and API test automation; CI/CD integration (GitHub Actions/Jenkins).
Strong exploratory testing and test design skills (boundary analysis, equivalence partitioning, risk-based testing); ability to translate requirements into clear test cases and acceptance criteria.
Hands-on with Agile/Scrum and Scaled practices (SAFe); comfortable contributing to definition of ready/done, sprint quality gates, and release criteria.
Familiarity with cloud-based environments (AWS), containers, and environment orchestration; experience building quality signals into pipelines (static analysis, coverage, test results).
Ability to validate data flows, ETL/ELT, and service integrations; comfort with SQL and test data provisioning/masking. Additional database technologies that would be beneficial: DynamoDB, MongoDB, PostgreSQL.
Experience defining and tracking quality metrics; using dashboards to drive action (e.g., defect trends, flaky test remediation).
Understanding of regulated environments (e.g., HIPAA) and secure testing practices, including auditability and least-privilege data access.
Excellent written/verbal communication; ability to lead quality training and influence cross-functional teams.
Strong decision-making and problem-solving skills and the ability to maintain a high degree of confidentiality.
Physical Requirements:
Ability to work on a computer for extended periods of time.
Ability to stand or sit for extended periods of time.
Hours are generally Monday-Friday, 8:00 AM-5:00 PM. As operational deliverable deadlines emerge there will likely be extended working hours.
Light work requiring exertion up to 20 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 10 pounds of force frequently, and/or a negligible amount of force constantly to move objects.
Ability to work from La Vista, NE office with reliable and predictable attendance.
